Using Assistive technology is not just used by those with disabilities. It is used by all kinds of people to make their tasks on the web easier.
There are a wide range of assistive technology products used by website users:
- Alternative keyboards- consists of smaller or larger than usual keys;

Electronic pointing devices- will control the cursor without hand usage;

Joysticks- used by hand, feet or chin;

Screen enlargers/ magnifiers- enlarges parts of the screen;

Screen Readers- speak the content of the website; Sip-and-puff systems- activated by inhaling or exhaling;

Touch screens- allows user to directly touch computer screen;

Trackballs- balls that can move the cursor;

Voice recognition programmes- allows user to make commands through their voice instead of a keyboard or mouse;
