Q:
Can I add money using the tool?

A: It is not currently available. It is very likely that this facility will be implemented in the future.

Q: Can I open a Google / Overture account in the tool?

A: No. You can only open them from the PPC search engine site.

Q: Can the system identify when my site is throwing up 404 errors?

A: No.

Q: Do I have to put tracking codes on every page in my site?

A: You should place tracking codes on site pages if you want to analyze how your website operates and who visits it. All results are presented in reports (over 100) for your marketing, statistical and executive departments that will give you the ability to measure the success of your campaigns and the business they create. Creating events, generating counters for those events and enabling the Add tracking parameters to URL option allow you to analyze keywords ROI, sales from your site etc.

Q: How can I easily turn off my accounts in an emergency, and switch them on again without having to re-do strategies?

A: It is not possible at present.

Q: How can I find out about Google / Overture / MIVA editorial requirements?

A: Each PPC search engine provides all necessary information. You can find about editorial requirements there.

Q: How do I set a strategy that starts on one day and ends on another?

A: Each strategy has the "working period" setting. It defines hours, days of week and months when strategy should function. In the same interface you can set working interval of a strategy - it is defined by From and To dates in the Duration section. If To value isn't specified, the strategy will work indefinitely.

Q: I create a new adgroup in Google within a campaign that is managed by the tool. Will it automatically be picked up by the tool and have tracking URLs added?

A: No. You have to register these adgroups in the tool manually. You can do it with Campaigns/AdGroups filter in Edit PPC Account window.

Q: I don't have an existing Google / Overture / MIVA / Mirago account. How do I set this up in the tool?

A: At present it is not possible to create and add a new account to PPC via our tool. First, you have to create a new account on a PPC search engine and then add it to the tool via the Add new account.

Q: I don't see today's figures on the reports - why is this?

A: Most probably, the report data from search engines hasn't been received yet. Common delay for keyword reports is 1 day, for Overture - 2 days.

Q: I want to change my bids/strategies/keywords and don't want to wait until the next synchronisation - what do I do?

A: You don't need to wait for the next synchronization. All changes made to prices, titles, URLs, descriptions or any other keyword parameters are sent to search engines immediately (it usually takes a few minutes). All newly added keywords or removed keywords are also sent immediately to PPC search engines An exception is Overture - keywords removal may take up to a few hours, because of Overture technical limitations. Also you can run strategy immediately by pressing on the Run strategies now button from the Bid Manager interface. The strategy will update all new keywords parameters and send them to the PPC immediately.

Q: If I amend a bid within Google or Overture to higher than the max bid written for that word in the tool. Will the tool overwrite it?

A: No. Instead of overwriting it will increase max bid up to a bid value set via PPC search engine interface.

Q: What is a "chargeable action?"

A: "Chargeable action" is a point system; the amount payable shown on a user's monthly bill will be determined by the number of chargeable actions added to their account for system usage during the month. The current number of chargeable actions is listed in the Company billing section. Adding of the chargeable action is based on the following principals:
  1. 1. One point is added for each action that requires payment (i.e. keyword bid change or any changes of other keyword parameters made using our tool). If a user changes a keyword parameter that doesn't require sending to PPC search engine (i.e. category, number updates per day, strategy, bid management option changes from enable to disable etc.) the point will not be added. For example, if a user has 100 keywords managed by our tool and changes price only for one keyword the then one point will be added in this case. If the user again changes price for that keyword one more point will be added. If a user changes price of 100 keywords then 100 chargeable actions will be added. One chargeable action will be added even if the new keyword price adjusted/set by the strategy coincides with the previous one (has the same value). At the same time the Max Bid and Full down strategies will not add any chargeable actions for processing keywords either at the moment of processing the price was highest possible (in case of Max Price) or the keyword was offline or with Min Bid (Full Down). Furthermore, if prices from Top 10 for some keywords managed by strategy haven't been changed during 2 weeks then the strategy will automatically reduce keyword processing frequency to once per day which will result in reducing the number of chargeable actions added. As soon as there will be any changes in Top 10 prices made or a user makes any changes that reflects on strategy functioning then the keyword processing frequency will be automatically raised to the initial one. Then even if the changes do not reflect on keyword prices or the situation in Top 100 remains stable the keyword processing frequency will again be reduced to once per day. This mechanism allows for reducing the number of chargeable actions added and also responds to market changes in time. For example, if a user has 100 keywords processed by strategies and the number of updates per day is set to 24 then the chargeable actions will be added as follows: 100 x 24 = 2 400 chargeable actions per day or approximately 2 400 x 30 = 72 000 each month. In case a user has 100 keywords processed by the strategies and the number of updates per day is set to 6 then the number of chargeable actions will be 600 (100 x 6 = 600) or approximately 18000 each month (600 x 30 = 18 000).
  2. 2.
  3. One chargeable action is added for each keyword download from the PPC search engine. The download of all keywords happens in any the following three situations: . Primary PPC account registration in the tool; . Daily automatic download of all keywords for each PPC account; . Keywords download caused by user request.
  4. 3.
  5. One chargeable action is added for each hit tracked by the tool. For example, if a user placed counters that have tracked 100 hits, 100 chargeable actions will be added.
  6. 4.
  7. One chargeable action is added for each event tracked by the tool. For example, if a user placed counters that have tracked 100 events, 100 chargeable actions will be added.
  8. 5.
  9. One chargeable action is added for each report viewing from the Report section. Chargeable actions will not be added while you are looking through the report (i.e. Page changing, filters applying, report period adjusting etc.) Also one chargeable action is added for sending one report via e-mail as well as for all reports signed.

Q: What is CPA strategy and how does it work?

A: This strategy is designed to optimize the order price. CPA (cost per acquisition) - is the price paid to acquire one customer, i.e. the average sum spent for current keyword clicks for each customer who made a purchase. The strategy sets the keyword bid in order to gear the CPA to the value assigned. Click here to get more info. Each strategy has a detailed description of how it works. Click on the Learn more link to get more information about the strategy mechanism.

Q: When should I enable AutoBid?

A: Only Overture and MivaUS provide an AutoBid option. AutoBid sets the keyword bid one unit higher than that of the competitor who is one position lower than the keyword with the selected price. On Overture all keywords are in AutoBid mode by default and it is not possible to enable or disable it. On MivaUS the AutoBid feature is one of the parameters and can be enabled/disabled via Bid Manager. Our tool can automatically AutoBid keywords processed by strategies. Each strategy has the Strategy AutoBid parameter. If Strategy AutoBid is enabled, then the strategy will AutoBid on each operation cycle and it will result on keywords bids as follows:
